We are from team Say Watt? from Edison, NJ, and we participate in the FIRST Tech Challenge, where high school students design, build, and program a robot to compete against other teams. Our two teams, Say Watt? and our sister team Watt The Hex? are both private teams. We both try to learn, have fun, and share our experiences with our community.

But what is FIRST Tech Challenge? FIRST means For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. FIRST is a non-profit organization that does just that. It generates an interest in young people for science, technology, math, and engineering by administrating various robotics competitions for students to learn and gain experience in those fields, while also emphasizing teamwork and good sportsmanship.

FIRST Tech Challenge, or FTC, is designed for those who want to compete head-to-head, using a sports model. Teams of up to 10 high school students are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots to score points as an alliance against other allied teams. Awards are given for the competition as for well as for community outreach, design, and other real-world accomplishments.
