Cavebot
In competition from September-December 2010. Cavebot encloses the goal and takes it around the field with the robot to allow for quick scoring. Though difficult to maneuver and not effective enough for high scores, it is fast and defense-proof.
Aviator
In competition from January 2011 on. Aviator takes advantage of a technicality in the rules to allow for uninterrupted goal control. This enables what we call “direct feed,” where the robot continuously dispenses and scores batons, allowing very high scores. It also has the ability to sense and score the magnetic baton during this process. Aviator is an extremely heavy robot, weighing in over 40 pounds, and has won a variety of awards for its combination of innovative and aesthetic design and unique and effective software solutions to problems.
